This week we are updating the address lookup in ACI Sky Flood. Your area may contain addresses that are affected, so we wanted to provide some workflow tips that can help. Usually we see this in smaller communities where Google Maps™ has limited coverage, and with addresses that contain letters in the street number (ex: N47W699 Spring St).
In these areas we recommend first using ACI Sky Maps to create your location map, then use Sky Flood. The Sky Maps zooming and panning features makes it easier to pinpoint the precise location of the subject. Once you save the location map, the latitude and longitude of the subject property is stored in your report and used by Sky Flood for the flood determination.
This workflow technique will not only speed up the process, but it will also keep your location and flood maps in sync.
We work with Google on a daily basis to help improve their maps. If you have an address that needs to be updated with Google, send it over to us and we’ll submit the request on your behalf. You know your area better than we do, so including a map of the correct location is helpful, but is not required. Send this information along to mapping@aciweb.com.
